A Frosty Start to Forest School

It was glorious but cold day for Robin's return to Forest School. Wrapped up against the weather we played games to warm up and spent time in the field thinking of fantastic describing words for the sounds made as we trod on the frosty grass!

As part of an experiment, Mrs Greggs had asked us to put water into moulds and leave them outside overnight. Collecting them the morning of Forest School revealed a change of structure from water to beautiful solid shapes which we hung up (until the sun came out!)

A thick sheet of ice on the pond, digging pit and mud kitchen provided a wonderful creative resource; ice cube m factories, ice skimming, frosty drinks and finding the biggest and thickest bits to using the ice as windows!

There was also time to build dens, hunt for bugs and design ball-runs on the gutter chutes.
