PTA News

Hello!
Eleanor and I are very excited to join the PTA committee as Secretary and Chair respectively, joining Guy who continues on as Treasurer. Thank you again to Clare, Jude, and everyone who made last year such a success.
Firstly, I would like to invite you to join a PTA get together Tuesday 17th October at the Legion at 7:30pm. We’d love to bring together as many parents as possible to listen to your ideas for how we can best serve the school and our community. It’s not a trick to get people to sign up to volunteer roles, we promise!
We are all keenly aware that times are tough. Inflation is high and energy prices, food, insurance premiums, you name it, are all going up. The swimming pool costs are as high as they have ever been, as are many other school related costs. And families are impacted just as much.
So, our vision for the year ahead is twofold:
To raise as much funding as possible for our kids to have the best possible school experience. As well as providing significant funding towards the running of the swimming pool, the PTA will be able to carry on funding the music lessons provided by Gemma Hitchen and other vitally important educational experiences. We will do this by running a program of unforgettable events for parents and the wider village. Ministry of Elstead, Stars in Your Eyes, and a Bond-themed Casino Night are all on the cards.
Alongside this of course we want to run events that are focused on bringing people together, where fundraising is a secondary concern. The School Disco, the Christmas Window Display, the Christmas and Summer Fairs, the summer Fun Splash sessions are all examples of this.
To make this all possible we wish to involve as many parents, carers, and teachers as possible in supporting these events and the running of the PTA. You could join us at the Legion to share your views and ideas over a Chardonnay, speak to Eleanor, Guy or me in the drop off/pick up lines, or contact us on WhatsApp via your reps, on Facebook messenger or our via the school office.
Please join the PTA at St James Facebook page which can be found by searching for 'PTA at St James'
Looking forward to the year ahead,
Carl Rogers (PTA Chair) , Eleanor Stobbs (PTA Secretary), Guy Jones (PTA Treasurer) and on behalf of everyone who supports the PTA.
A reminder of future PTA events:
