Exciting End to Owls' Forest School Sessions

During their recent Forest School sessions, Owls have been observing nature even before entering the Forest School site: noticing the changes spring is bringing to the trees and the number of wild flowers on the field.

As well as time to build dens, hunt for bugs, use the pulley system and design ball-runs on the gutter chutes there was plenty of opportunity to incorporate pirate-themed games and activities, inspired by Owls' classroom topic.

Mrs Greggs became Pirate Captain Grumpy Greggs as her pirate shipmates, Owls had lots of jobs to do on board the Good Ship St James: climbing the rigging to the crow's nest, scrubbing the decks, checking for 'land ahoy and of course walking the plank!

There was much excitement about a treasure map and Owls worked, very successfully, in teams to read the map and find 4 different pine cone treasures that unlocked the treasure chest of marshmallows!
