Year 1 celebrate ShabBat
Last Friday, Owls made Challah bread as part of their RE learning about the Jewish day of rest called Shabbat. The Challah loaves play an important part in the ritual. The children made the dough using flour, eggs, honey and yeast, then kneaded it before shaping it into a plait and baking it. The loaves rose perfectly and came out golden brown. We broke the bread up and shared the loaves together - it was delicious.
